2017 TOC PF Round 1: PCDS PW vs Harvard Westlake EE

2017 Tournament of Champions Round 1 PCDS PW (Aff) vs Harvard Westlake EE (Neg)

Jun 29, 20172.9k

Parker Whitfill affirms vs. Evan Engel. Decision is for the affirmative, judge is Kris Wright. Suggestions for redos-- 1. Practice a different 1N against Agonism that doesn't rely on key neg generics such as cap K and util + endowments DA. This late into the topic, not having topic specific strategies vs. specific phil affs becomes devastating because 1ARs can extensively practice speeches like Parkers. 2. Practice the 2N and allocate less time (~45 seconds less) on condo and more on the perms. Cut out the word K of paralysis and see how that affects your time allocation. 3. Practice Parker's 2AR where you go for Cap Impact Turns (it's winnable) AND also where you go for Condo Bad (harder debate to win because 2N overallocates on it). Also practice Parker's 2ar as is. ——————— Like us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/debatedrills Join our newsletter: http://www.debatedrills.com

Pro Constructive

Affirmative

Play to where each speech begins and press Mark start, or let Detect speeches find them all — the timeline, the playing marker and each speech's captions follow.

Judges

What else could the Pro Constructive have done? Claude drafts 3 alternative responses and predicts how a flow judge would vote after each, next to the speech as it was given.

  • Flow judge: A technical, experienced circuit judge who votes on the flow: dropped arguments are true, extensions need warrants, and weighing decides close rounds.

Simulated responses and ballots are Claude's predictions from a rough transcript, not real results. Each run is a new AI request.
